New Years Eve events Denver
1. 16th Street Mall
With the New Year’s Eve Fireworks, the sky will once again sparkle over downtown at the end of 2022. The two spectacular fireworks display will take place at 9 p.m. and midnight. For the best views, stand along the 16th Street Mall. The identical fireworks display will be to a music playlist provided by live DJs located along the mall. Each show will last approximately eight minutes and can be from anywhere in the mall. The DJs will spin music from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. The Downtown Denver Partnership is presenting the fireworks, which are co-sponsored by VISIT DENVER and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District.
2. Civic Center Park
Take part in the free activities at the Mile High Tree. It’s a 110-foot-tall, lit immersive art installation with a dazzling lights-and-music show. On New Year’s Eve, at 9 p.m., there will be a special, ball drop-style countdown. A good vantage point is near the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel at the upper end of the 16th Street Mall.
3. The Brighton in RiNo
Resolution Denver has been one of Colorado’s favourite New Year’s Eve parties for the past 13 years. 8. Museo de las Americas
Luis Barragán: a Legacy is a new collective exhibition at Museo de las Americas. New Works Reveal the Mexican Soul. This exhibition, curated by Artemio Garca Uribe of Guadalajara, MX, honours the legacy of one of the most iconic and well-known Mexican architects of the twentieth century. The Museo de las Americas will investigate how his influence has manifested itself in the work of five Mexican artists, who will create a mosaic of interpretations of what Barragán and his works mean to them.
9. Clyfford Still Museum
The Clyfford Still Museum’s tenth anniversary year concludes with the exhibition You Select: A Community-Curated Exhibition gives art lovers from the Denver area and beyond the curatorial reins. This exhibition is to encourage broad engagement and appreciation of Clyfford Still’s art and artistic legacy.

11. Denver Art Museum
Works from the Vicki and Kent Logan Collection features approximately 50 artworks, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, mixed-media works, and several never-before-exhibited works. Many notable North American and international contemporary artists are in this outstanding collection, including Elmgreen, Kent Monkman, Zhang Dali, Yang Shaobin, Dragset, Agustina Woodgate, Glenn Ligon, and Jenny Saville.
12. York Street Yards
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ “Theater of the Mind” will take audience members on an immersive journey in a 15,000-square-foot historic warehouse on the York Street Yards adaptive reuse campus in the Clayton neighbourhood. Audiences will explore how they perceive the world through sensory experiments that reveal the inner mysteries of the brain, guided by a Guide whose stories are the creators’ lives. It’s an exploration of self-reflection, discovery, and imagination inspired by someone and grounded in neuroscience, co-created by David Byrne of Talking Heads and writer Mala Gaonkar.
13. Cherry Creek Shopping Center
Rome has arrived in Denver! Skip the long lines at the Vatican City’s Sistine Chapel and see Michelangelo’s world-renowned work up close enough to touch God’s finger in Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition. This special collection of the artist’s renowned ceiling frescoes is in a format that allows viewers to get up close and personal with the masterpieces via 34 displayed reproductions paired with an audio narrative.
14. Denver Botanic Gardens
This exhibition, which includes 40 original botanical illustrations, highlights the history and significance of biological diversity in cultivated plants grown for clothing, healing, and, most, food. These works’ subjects were on international travels, purchased at a farmer’s market, or harvested from the artists’ gardens. The works depict the artistry of plant breeding, the difficulties of maintaining genetic diversity in domesticated crops, and the rejuvenation potential of heirloom and ancient plant revival.
